Before you tick anything: what we do with your data
Who. Dr.Omics Labs decides how your data is used, so we are the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our sequencing and IT partners process it for us under written confidentiality terms.
What. Your name, contact details, date of birth, sex, height and weight, health and lifestyle answers, your sample and the genetic data read from it.
Why. To run your Wellness DNA Test, issue your report in English, and keep the records our accreditation and Indian law require. Nothing beyond that unless you tick it below.
Your choices are separate. Items 1 and 2 are needed to run the test. Items 3, 4 and 5 are optional — your test, your report and your price are identical whichever way you answer, and you never have to explain a "no".
Withdrawing is as easy as giving. Email with your Customer ID and tell us what to stop. We act within 30 days and stop all future use — you never have to explain why.
Your rights. Get a copy of your data, correct it, have it erased once our retention period ends, and nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot. Complaints go to our Grievance Officer at ; if we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Our security policy — how your data is protected
None of this is optional for us. It is how the lab and the systems behind it are run, and the law holds us to it.
- In transit and at rest
- Everything you type here travels over HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or better). Your details, your answers and your signature are stored encrypted on servers located in India, and backups are encrypted the same way.
- Your DNA data is kept apart from your name
- The moment your sample reaches the lab it is labelled with a barcode, not your name. Genetic data is stored under that barcode in a separate system; the key that links barcode to person is held by a small number of named staff and every use of it is logged.
- Who can see it
- Access is granted by role and reviewed every quarter. Only the lab and reporting staff working on your test can open your record, each with their own account and two-factor login. We do not use your data to train any model, and we never sell it.
- Our partners
- Sequencing and IT partners process data for us under written contracts that bind them to these same standards, forbid any attempt to re-identify you, and require them to delete their copy when the work is done.
- Deletion is real deletion
- Your physical sample is destroyed after testing. If you asked us to delete your DNA data after your report, it is erased from live systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within 90 days as they roll over. If you chose five-year storage, the same erasure runs automatically at the end of that period, or sooner if you ask.
- If something goes wrong
- We keep an incident response plan and test it. If a breach affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay, in plain language: what happened, what it means for you, and what we have done about it.
- Telling us about a problem
- Found a security flaw? Write to our security contact. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue to us in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
3. Help build Indian genetic scienceOptional
Most of the world's genetic research has been done on European populations. That is why global findings often fit Indian bodies poorly — and why your data, in anonymous form, is genuinely valuable. Every Indian genome we can study sharpens the next version of this test, including the refreshed report you get if you keep your data with us.
What you are giving up: nothing identifiable. Your name, contact details, Customer ID and every other identifier are stripped out first. Anonymous data cannot be traced back to you, is never published against your name, and sits outside the DPDP Act precisely because it is no longer personal data. Your report, price and service stay the same either way — this changes nothing except how much science your test contributes to.
Items 4 and 5 are switched off because the client is under 18. The law does not allow us to run targeted advertising towards children or to publicise them, so we will not ask.
What we record. Each answer above is stored with the exact wording you agreed to, the notice version and a timestamp, so you can always see what you consented to and when. Reports are issued in English.
